Organic Bay leaf Hydrosol

Description

Bay leaf has powerful antibacterial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antifungal properties and is useful in treating infections, sore throat, rheumatism, tonsillitis and bladder problems.

Topically applied, Bay Leaf Hydosol is an antiseptic and has been an effective treatment for dandruff, rheumatic joints, sprains, bruises and scabies.

Bay leaf hydrosol also makes a great gargle for mouth infections.

Applications:

• can replace water in lotions or cosmetic recipes
• use as a compress to speed healing of strains
• use in shampoos to stop dandruff
• use as a gargle or mouth wash for tooth or gum infections

What is a hydrosol?
A hydrosol is the water that is left over when plants are steam-distilled to release their essential oils. Hydrosols contain traces of the essential oil as well as other plant components that are only water-soluble. This makes hydrosols very special, a unique product that can’t be manufactured synthetically. Hydrosols can be used 100% pure, as a face mist, pillow mist, added to skin care products (replacing distilled water), room refresher …. the possibilities are endless. You can even drink hydrosols (diluted) or add it to your cooking.

Hydrosols contain the same plant properties as the essential oil, so can be used for the same applications.

Cautions:

Our hydrosols do not contain preservatives so should be treated as a perishable product. Keep refrigerated to lengthen shelf life. Shelf life varies between 1-2 years.

Store hydrosols away from direct sunlight in amber or dark bottles.

Maintain the integrity of your hydrosols by not allowing unsterilized items like your fingers, cotton balls or other items to come into direct contact with the hydrosols you are storing.
